Charlotte has become a Mecca for golf in the middle of the Carolinas. With some of the great courses luring people in the Pinehurst, Myrtle Beach, Charleston, Hilton Head and the mountains of Western North Carolina, the Greater Charlotte area boasts about a hundred courses to please every type of golf enthusiast from Professional to lower handicapper. Charlotte is now home to the Wachovia Championship at Quail Hollow Club, a regular PGA tour stop. Rock Barn in Hickory landed the Hickory Classic, a Champions tour stop.
